While the windows are designed to be light and allow us to enjoy the scenery outside, there are moments when I saw the need to hide or as much as we like to let in the light, we do like our privacy, so the windows need to be protected. But with what?

For those who like lots of light entering their room, but still want the level of privacy, a thin curtain seems the most appropriate choice for window coverings. Sheer curtains come in such a variety of patterns that currently you are sure to find one that matches the decor of the room.

Sheer curtains are not only letting in the light, but they are cheap to buy window treatments so if you have a fixed budget for decorating, this may be just the ticket. The only downside is that the thin curtains at night they do not offer much privacy. To overcome this, some people buy curtaining mere three to four times the window width and have gathered enough weight so that gives them the privacy they seek in the evenings. However, the weight will stop collecting your view out of the house at noon.

Another way to enhance privacy while sheer curtains are used is to have them lined both sides with curtains hanging on the other rod. This can easily be drawn across the thin curtains at night, providing total privacy.

A window treatment that offers both lots of light and privacy when needed is a vertical and horizontal blinds slat. It can be opened fully or partially during the day, allowing plenty of light and sunshine into the room. Then at night all you need do is close them properly and you have total privacy.

The advantage to the type of blinds is that you have full control over the amount of light entering the room. If the room get a lot of light in the morning or afternoon you can only set the bar to block out, while still leaving them open slightly to allow light into the room.
